Jonalyn is a former PhD student in the Aran Lab. Prior to joining the lab, she received her M.S. in Applied Life Sciences at KGI and her B.S. in Biochemistry at the University of Austin, Texas (UT Austin). In the Aran lab, her work is focused on using exosomes for bioengineering, medical diagnostics, and medical therapeutic applications. Her interests include working with blood-based biomarkers and their potential as therapeutics for early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases, organ-on-a-chip blood-brain barrier models, and drug delivery models for clinical applications. Jonalyn defended her thesis in July 2023.
